Children who are age 5 between 1 March 2025 and the end of February 2026 are required to register their child for starting school in August 2025 by completing an online registration form which will be available from Monday 6 January 2025.  This will be promoted on SLC social media platforms.  The registration form is available on the SLC website Enrolling your child for school – South Lanarkshire Council

You should then contact the parent/guardian between Monday 13 and Friday 17 January to discuss the enrolment submitted.  Full details of the enrolment process will be provided before the scheduled infant enrolment week.

Please note it is important to check the quality of the supporting evidence provided.  This must be the child’s full birth certificate and 2 official proofs of residency (preferably no older than 6 months) to confirm they reside within your catchment area.  If the relevant documents are not provided an enrolment should not be completed.

If you receive any enrolments for August 2025 before January you should contact the parent and advise them that the application has been made too early and should be done again from 6 January onwards.
