Dear Parent/ Carer,

PVG for Helpers.

As you are aware the law changed this session for parent helpers in schools; all now require a full PVG check to be completed prior to helping out in schools and the PVG must be tied to St John’s Primary School.

Currently we have more than 10 parents who have submitted their details to enable them to accompany on school trips and to help out at different events across the year.

As yet no PVG checks have come back and therefore we have planned an alternative Halloween/ Autumn themed afternoon on Friday 31 October instead of our usual Parent Council Disco.

On Friday 31 October children should not come in costume but can wear non uniform if they wish.

In class children can make a Halloween/ Autumn headband and will come to the hall for a disco and some party games.

Children will come in two groups to the hall P1-P4 and then P5-P7.

Our Parent Council will provide a small snack bag for each child which will be given out at the end of the day.

We hope that if we have enough helpers with PVG checks to our school to be able to hold future events run by our Parent Council.
