Talking Teams and House Groups

Talking Teams
We have worked very hard to develop pupil voice in St. John’s and believe the best ideas come from the children!
In our school, everyone is part of a Pupil Voice Group (Talking Team). These are made up of mixed groups of children from P1 – P7 who meet every six weeks to share and discuss their opinion on a range of matters before planning action within this theme.
Currently we have the following Talking Teams:

Pupil Council
Media
Outdoor
Literacy
Community

 

House Groups
Pupils are divided into one of four house groups in St. John’s –
Arran – red
Iona – blue
Seil – green
Skye – yellow
Each house has a Primary 7 Captain and Vice-Captain elected by pupils in August each year and they work as a team to earn house points based on our school values

Team
Our Pupil Leadership team play an active role in ensuring that pupil voices are heard and that they are a driving force in leading developments and change within the school.

Committees
We have a number of very active committee groups who meet regularly and promote their ideas, take action on a range of issues and share their work with the rest of the school.
